How to Fix BROKEN Curtain Rod with a wooden dowel

I have a curtain rod that is broken in two parts. So to fix it I will drill a hole on each part to join them, reinforcing the joint with a wooden dowel. It may seen complicated, but I show how to use some scrap wood to make a kind of dowel joint jig to guide the wood drill bit, so both holes of the dowel joint are perfectly aligned. Sometimes it is just a matter of having some woodworking skills to have ideas like this that help in our home repairs. The problem was that after I repair the curtain rod it soon broke in another part, but not in the dowel joint that I made. Anyway, another woodworking trick that I have learned. And I also could put to the test a clamping system that works great to press together both parts of the broken curtain rod until the carpenters glue dries making a strong joint.
