Since this unit is so large, I see it as first and foremost a charging station. You really wouldn't buy this just to get OTG functionality as there are much smaller cables/devices available for this. However, having the port there gives you options. The matte plastic housing makes it look and feel like it's decent quality. Not high-end but not too cheap either.
With four ports, each outputting up to 1.5A or more, this hub has enough power to charge all or most of my devices simultaneously. Although the two right charging ports are labeled iPhone and Android, you can use any of the ports for any device as long as the port meets your devices minimum current requirement.
As for the OTG, I was fortunate to have a phone that supports this functionality so that I could test it out. Sorry Apple users, iPhones don't support OTG. I was able to get a USB hub, mouse, keyboard and thumbdrive to work with it. My external Seagate hard drive that requires power through the USB did not work in the OTG port (as it does not provide power). Just note that the OTG output requires the original cable that comes with this unit and you can't just use any old USB cable and it ONLY works for the OTG function; you can't charge with it.
The shortness of the OTG cable is a bit inconvenient since you basically have to be next to the unit and it makes it difficult to change the screen orientation of the device. I'd probably only use it for quick tasks like transferring files to/from my phone. From a charging perspective it works like a charm and saves me from having to plug four separate power bricks into the wall socket. Less clutter, more functionality.
