I filmed this video for myself at a memorial evening for Boukreev.
At the time, it was an absolute exclusive, first-hand account of the infamous tragedy on Everest. This story inspired me to find out and understand what it's like to hike in the mountains, to understand Boukreev's true heroism. Because to the average person, it's not obvious—so, the clients got lost in a snowstorm 200 meters from their tents, and then he went and found them. What's the big deal? I wanted to understand. I did, but it still got me hooked on mountaineering. Now, I have no questions—Boukreev is a kind of superhuman in many ways, both moral and physical. Until you've gotten lost in a snowstorm in the mountains, you won't understand. I'm posting the details on my LiveJournal: https://gosh100.livejournal.com/tag/%...
