If you want to import a Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects, then you may need the Dynamic Link. It ensures that the two Adobe software can share the same multimedia resources (such as videos, images, audio, etc.).
Dynamic Link improves your video editing, because:
1. It avoids rendering videos that need to be passed from Premiere Pro to After Effects (and vice versa)
2. It saves you a lot of time, allowing you to edit quickly
3. It's simple to use! From Premiere right click on a video clip and select "Replace with After Effects Composition"
Dynamic Link keeps the resources up-to-date. For example, if you create an animation within After Effects, it will reflect on Premiere Pro too.
In this tutorial I used After Effects CC 2018 and Premiere Pro CC 2018, but the procedure also works with CS6 versions. Make sure that both softwares are updated to the same version, otherwise the Dynamic Link will not work.
