This was my talk for a lot of Fil-Chi business owners in the Philippines. Living in a blatantly and harshly corrupt and grey business environment in the Philippines can be tough for a lot of business owners who wish to do business in an honest, honorable way.
How did I do it? What are the rules I follow? What are the consequences of following your values in the Philippine business world?
I also share my story about how I started my business with a measly 1,300 pesos using an online blog.
The talk is just for 30 minutes and then we had the Question and Answer portion. I answered questions such as:
"How do you deal with government offices (esp. BIR) that extort money even if you are trying to be above board?"
"How do you manage toxic work environment?"
"In a family business, set of values and practices are already in place. How do you suggest to remove certain unbiblical practices and replace it with the biblical ones?"
"How do you balance between setting rules and being the authority vs building relationships with them/ being relational?"
"I'm no longer happy at work. Is that a good basis to resign? My work, boss, environment and pay are okay. How do i know when to resign?"
Learn, apply and grow. God bless you!
