According to the legend of the New Orleans swamp, the innocent souls of the murdered will be forever trapped in a single day until all the guilty are punished at the hands of the most tormented victim. Once a year, on that very Halloween night, Victor Crowley relives that very moment again and again. The moment when, in terror and fear, he screamed hysterically for his father's help, when despair and helplessness ignited hatred and a desire for revenge.
▰ ... At some point, fate brings the couple face to face with misfortune: Cheyenne is diagnosed with a severe form of stomach cancer. In a very short period of time, she begins to fade away, literally before our eyes. Because Thomas works all day and is unable to care for his ailing wife, he hires a nurse. She is a young, dark-skinned, and very beautiful woman named Lina. Very soon, a relationship between her and Thomas began, which just as quickly blossomed into an affair. Indulging in passion in the next room, the loving couple was completely unfazed by the fact that the sick woman's condition worsened with each passing day. After some time, Lina became pregnant. On the day when Cheyenne, exhausted and weakened by her illness, breathed her last, and death stood waiting over her, Thomas and Lina thought that the poor woman had finally given up her soul and there was no longer any point in hiding her relationship from anyone, and now there was no point. They hold hands and begin to kiss passionately. However, this rash act was a grave mistake. Cheyenne was still alive and witnessed everything, despite literally only seconds left to live. The woman finds the strength to stand, place her hand on Lina's now rather large pregnant belly, and curse the unborn child with the deepest hatred from the bottom of her heart. Several months later, Lina goes into difficult labor, and she is forced to attend the birth at home with Thomas. Through excruciating pain and bleeding, the child is born. With trembling hands, the man frantically wraps the baby in swaddling clothes; it was a boy. When the girl saw him, she was overcome with such horror and shock that her heart gave out and stopped.
