Relocating your car from state to state is quite a hassle in India. As per Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, a vehicle owner must obtain a new registration plate issued by the registration authority in whose jurisdiction the vehicle is currently being used. The vehicle owner must obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) from the previous road transport authority, apply for a new registration and pay the relevant taxes. Hence, One Nation, One Road Tax. Sounds like a bright idea.
