An example of the use of OpenPose in a sport setting. Here, motion capture (MoCap) in 2D is used, for visualization purposes of the concept.
"OpenPose has represented the first real-time multi-person system to jointly detect human body, hand, facial, and foot keypoints (in total 135 keypoints) on single images."
As with any program, a 'glitch' can occur sometimes: the software can make up a person based on the colours of certain pixels when in reality, there is no one there.
OpenPose can perform MoCap in 3D for one person based on input from 2 or more different cameras. No markers are required. OpenPose can be used in real-time for direct feedback to coach and athlete.
