The Seven Sisters
In this discussion, we looked at the seven powerful oil giants or major companies that fully control the global oil trade and engaged in long term oil contracts in oil-rich developing counties before the organization of petroleum exporting countries (OPEC) became effective in 1970s. These powerful giants or majors were made up of seven companies and hence referred to as "the Seven Sisters".
