Bare grape roots are commonly removed or pried out to facilitate shipping or storage of seedlings until the appropriate planting time. After removal, the bare roots are usually wrapped in cocopeat to maintain moisture, preventing drying and providing a water reserve. Planting bare roots requires proper care, as the seedlings can die. This video shows a simple method for beginner gardeners to plant bare grape roots.
