FIXAZH: Natalia Vershinina, "Industrial Archeology and Abandoned Cities"
FIXAZH Contemporary Photography Festival. www.fixfest.ru
Natalia Vershinina, photographer and adventurer. Her father's name was Vladilen (VLADIMIR Ilyich LENIN), and her mother's name was Ninel (a palindrome of Lenin), so she was bound to fall in love with Soviet factories, ships, airplanes, Soviet science, and long-distance expeditions.
How do you photograph such places? What should you be prepared for? What interior photography nuances apply to photographing old industrial and cultural sites?
The second FIXAZH Contemporary Photography Festival was held from April 21 to May 9 at the Central House of Artists on Krymsky Val (Moscow).
"Fixage" brought together contemporary photographers working in various photographic techniques: reportage, macro photography, psychological portraiture, genre photography, landscape photography, city photography, and much more. Eight projects by photographers were presented at the 2017 FIXAGE festival: Pavel Korbut, Alik Yakubovich, Sergey Savkin, Sergey Makurin, Oksana Muzyka, Nina Ai-Artyan, Andrey Nechaev, and Victoria Ivanova.
