HOW TO PROFESSIONALLY UPLOAD YOUR MUSIC ON BEATSTARS
Checklist for anybody that might be a little confused on the process:
1: Make sure every sound in your project is routed to a different input
2: Create a new folder titled "Beatstars" on your desktop
3: Inside the "Beatstars" folder, make 3 more folders. Folder one will be called "WAV Tagged", folder 2 will be called "WAV Untagged" and folder 3 will be called "Stems".
4: before you export your Stems, you will double click on the "Stems" folder and make another folder for the song your exporting.
Example: Click Stems-right click, select "new folder" name it.
NAME YOUR SONG IN YOUR DAW BEFORE YOU EXPORT ANYTHING...THIS IS IMPORTANT.
5: Export your tagged .wav track to your "WAV Tagged" folder
6: Export your untagged .wav track to your "WAV Untagged" folder
7: Export your Stems, click on the stems folder, select new song folder. After you click on the new song folder, abbreviate your producer name
Example...
TommyBeets= TB_
so every stem will look like this when it's done exporting..
TB_Hi_Hat
TB_808
TB_Kick
TB_Snare
TB_Crash
When you export your stems, the name of each instrument is going to be a different file as opposed to when you just upload the entire instrumental as one file, this is why I say abbreviate your producer name, so when somebody opens it, they'll see your producer abbreviation without having a really long and annoying file name (TommyBeets_Guitar_Lead) for when the engineer is using your stems, it'll be very clean, professional and organized, which everybody loves. Which is another reason you absolutely need to title your song in your DAW before you start exporting everything. One shitty thing that'll happen is this....

One is cleaner, more professional looking, and easier to read when your digging through 12 different stems within one track.
8: after your stems are uploaded into your new song folder, which is inside of your stems folder.
yes I know i'm being redundant, it's for a reason.
you will right click on the new folder, and select "compress to ZIP folder". Compressing a regular folder to a ZIP folder is a requirement for BeatStars to be able to upload it successfully.
9: Upload it to BeatStars! The uploading part is simple, it's everything before uploading, properly setting yourself up to know where everything is before you do it, that's the more difficult part. Organize your music, your workflow will give you more time to make more music!
