Automate your image workflow with Python.

In this video, I’ll show you how to automatically compress images and organise them into folders based on their primary file name. This is useful for campaign assets, product images, e-commerce uploads, design projects, and any workflow involving large batches of files.

The Python automation can:

• Detect related image filenames
• Create folders automatically
• Group image variations under the correct primary image name
• Compress images to reduce file size
• Maintain an organised folder structure
• Process multiple images in bulk
• Save time on repetitive file management

This workflow is especially helpful for designers, content teams, photographers, e-commerce teams, and anyone managing hundreds of images regularly.

Requirements:

• Python installed
• Pillow library
• Basic access to Terminal or Command Prompt

Install Pillow:

pip install Pillow

Run the Python script:

python3 organise_images.py

On Windows, you may need to use:

python organise_images.py

Always test the script on a duplicate folder before processing important files.
