I'm finishing my benchmarking! I go into my last two topics pre-allocating and vectorizing.
Now long story short is pre-allocate when you can, and vectorize your operations, if you want efficient code. I don't go into big(O), but that would be the next step if you need really efficient code to ensure your benchmarks meet your desires.
