For over 60 years, La Romita School has been hosting art workshops and retreats from its home, a renovated 16th century monastery nestled among olive groves in Umbria.
Umbria has been a favorite destination for artists and poets who, for centuries, have sought inspiration in its scenery, history, and culture. Known as the green heart of Italy, its ancient villages and vibrant towns are surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of forests, waterfalls and wildflowers.
The La Romita experience affords artists the time and space to focus on their art in a serene and worry-free atmosphere, with the opportunity to explore and experience a part of Italy free from the hassles of overtourism.
We organize retreats for artists of all genres and media, offering a beautiful home base from which to visit the hilltowns and capture experiences with paintbrush, pen, or lens.
