Get Started with Vertex AI Studio: Complete Lab GSP1154 Walkthrough (Google Cloud Skills Boost)
Welcome back! In this video, we dive into Google Cloud's Vertex AI Studio by completing the hands-on lab "Get Started with Vertex AI Studio (GSP1154)" on Google Cloud Skills Boost.
Join me as I walk you through each task step-by-step, covering how to: ✔️ Launch the lab and sign in to the Google Cloud Console. ✔️ Navigate to Vertex AI Studio. ✔️ Task 1: Create applications from prompts: Use the Chat prompt interface with the Gemini model to build an AI assistant for insurance underwriting. We'll set system instructions, input a detailed scenario, generate a response, and save the prompt. ✔️ Task 2: Design effective prompts: Explore prompt engineering concepts like few-shot prompting. We'll create a new chat prompt for "Insurance Claim Data Extraction," provide examples (input/output pairs), and set system instructions to extract structured data from unstructured text. We also experiment with model settings like Temperature and Output Token Limit. We then create another prompt, "Insurance Story," experimenting further with model parameters. ✔️ Task 3: Engineer and manage prompts: Create a new "Insurance Risk Factor Identification" prompt. We'll input a scenario ("The Fiery Grill") and use the Compare feature to see how different models (Gemini 2.5 Flash vs. Gemini 2.5 Pro) and temperature settings affect the AI's output. ✔️ Task 4: Use multimodal prompts with Gemini: Work with image input! We'll create a "Timetable Image Analysis" prompt, import an image from Cloud Storage, and use multimodal prompts to ask Gemini questions about the image content (e.g., extracting text, identifying specific information, calculating percentages). We'll also adjust temperature settings for multimodal tasks. ✔️ Task 5: Generate media in Vertex AI Studio: Explore image generation capabilities. We'll switch to the Image tab, write a descriptive prompt, select the Imagen model, configure settings (aspect ratio, number of results), and generate images. We'll also briefly look at features like SynthID watermarking and image editing options (Inpainting/Outpainting).
