U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson is asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to fire Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova over a trip she organized to a Pennsylvania ammunition plant, according to a letter dated Sept. 25.
In the letter, Johnson said that no Republicans were invited to Zelensky’s Sept. 22 visit to the military plant. He claims the tour intentionally excluded any Republicans, making it “clearly a partisan campaign aimed at helping Democrats.”
House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer also said he is investigating alleged misuse of government resources by the Biden-Harris administration that allowed Zelensky to “interfere in the 2024 presidential election.”
“If the Biden-Harris administration tried to use a foreign leader to benefit from the vice president’s presidential campaign, it is an abuse of power and a waste of taxpayer money,” Comer wrote.
