Boat Maintenance Tip Everyone Should Do
Here is a simple maintenance tip that's going to pay off big time. Being proactive is key! I've got a receipt here, thanks to my buddy Bob. He goes all out, and it makes a huge difference. This receipt isn't just for purchases; it includes item numbers and part numbers for maintenance essentials like seals, oil, spark plugs, and more.
If you ever find yourself on the road and need a part, having these details handy is crucial. For example, if you get stranded and need bearings for your trailer, this list is a lifesaver.
On my sheet, I’ve noted the gap size for spark plugs, so no need to look it up. I carry extra spark plugs for my 90-horsepower engine, clearly labeled to avoid confusion with other equipment. Knowing the correct gap size is essential.
Always check the gap size with a feeler gauge right out of the box. Don't wait until the last minute; you might forget or not have your list with you. Incorrect gaps are common and can lead to poor performance or worse.
Being proactive with your maintenance makes everything smoother when the time comes. A little preparation goes a long way in avoiding trouble down the road
