Modular Synthesizer Fair – Gear Guide
On October 17-18, New York welcomed the first Machines In Music fair.
Organized by popular Brooklyn-based synthesizer store Control, the “modular synth fair” invited manufacturers, fans and practitioners to inspect and enjoy some of the most intriguing devices on the market and to connect with a scene that’s surprisingly fast-growing, considering the technology was considered to be outmoded.
FACT’s Matt Vega filmed the event, and spoke to Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, both a musician and a part of the Control team, to find out what was so enticing about the modular world, and why it has become the boutique electronic instrument of choice in recent years.
