Quick and dirty demo messing about with Mach1 Spatial for the first time in Bitwig. Mach1 Spatial is an agnostic spatial audio mixing format that doesn't rely on proprietary codecs, bus formats or metadata like e.g. Dolby Atmos. It allows transcoding to various formats including Dolby Atmos 7.1.2, Ambisonics, F360, Apple Spatial and Dolby Surround all from the Mach1 Spatial file which appears to simply be an 8 multitrack .aiff file.
Although Bitwig doesn't support multichannel audio busses, because Mach1 is not dependent on a proprietary bus format or appears to require sending/receiving of panning metadata, we can simply include a Mach1 Panner VST on each track and then expose that plugins 8 channels of output. From there we can pull these into plugin output chains into the psuedo bus. Using JACK2 Audio as the bridge between Bitwigs 8 single channel psuedo bus, we can employ VSTHost with the Mach1 Monitor to hear the Mach1 Spatial playpack.
