On March 24, 2018, a well-known and experienced glacier pilot crashed with a passenger on a temporary mountain landing site near Arosa. HPZ is re-creating the official investigation report in a simulator and supplementing it with its own research.
This philosophical preface is aimed at all those who believe that such accidents should not be discussed out of respect for the bereaved. HPZ puts it succinctly: Silence is a subtle form of contempt!

Addendum October 21, 2023:
A Maule expert, who has also flown Leo Caminada's aircraft, told me that on the Maule, the flaps must be set to -7 degrees to open the door. This was apparently the reason why the flaps were set to -7 degrees during takeoff from Arosa. If you were to use a checklist, you would obviously notice that you should set the flaps to takeoff.
