If you have been living under a rock, Meta Platforms, an American technology business, owns the social media and networking website Threads. Similar to Twitter, the programme allows users to submit text, photographs, and videos as well as comment on and like other people's messages. Both iOS and Android users can download the software. Because Threads profiles are linked to Instagram accounts, users must use the same username on both platforms.
Employees at Meta first considered the introduction of Instagram Notes, a text-based feature, when Elon Musk purchased Twitter. As a result of the employees' discussions, Threads was born as a distinct and autonomous text-focused app. In January 2023, Threads was internally known as "Project 92" when development got underway. In March, information about Threads was made public, and in June, The Verge revealed the information at an internal company-wide meeting. In July, information about Threads started to surface. On July 3, the app made its pre-launch appearance on the Apple App Store, with a July 6 release date.
On July 5, Threads made its formal debut in 100 nations, including the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Japan. 50 million members had enrolled on the social network less than a day after it went live.
