"Love Drunk" comes right on the heels of 2025 valentine. season It is a romantic ballad with visuals set in traditional Africa and shot on location in Lagos, Nigeria. The song and lyrics, inspired by the first time Obiora Obiwon fell in love with his wife of many years, speak of passion and commitment and are spangled with Igbo language terms of endearment over mostly English words. Sonically the shaker, tambourine and sparse drums provide rhythm guide while strings, double bass, harp, piano and trumpet back the melodic tune to a dreamy emotional climax. Love Drunk leads the way on a new 3-song EP entitled "Helmets, Crowns and Roses II: A True Love Story". Obiora Obiwon describes the EP concept and mission:
"We live in times of great offense. News of broken unions travel faster than news of flourishing ones. Many express fear and worry over their own unions and many wonder if God's original intent for love between man and woman is now illusive. Nkechi and I realise how much we are blessed to enjoy our home and union despite the challenging scenes of life that we have faced together. Last year's EP with the theme "Helmets, Crowns and Roses" highlighted the connection between the good fight of faith (helmets), living the victorious life (crowns) and the love (roses) both vertical and horizontal that helps us along the journey. In continuation of the theme, this new 3-song compilation EP - Helmets, Crowns and Roses II: A True Love Story - focuses on the 'roses' part of our story. It is a testament to our belief in a lifetime of romantic love in marital union, our prayer and declaration over ourselves and our spark of hope and inspiration to you and yours. Our faith and our love are inseparable. We know we've only come this far believing against all odds what Christ has perfectly created despite our human inperfections and that leaning on Him makes it all manifestly possible. Come believe and celebrate with us!"
