The story takes place in the Omegaverse, modern time. Ren was previously an alpha before he got turned as an omega by Elliot. As far as I know, enigmas can turn anyone into an omega if they wish to; regardless of their gender. To make this shorter, Elliot left Ren so Ren would remain his high position and status. As Ren was in his vulnerable moments, Daiko tried to manipulate him, that ended in an awful ass*ult. Elliot came to save him, and they now have a slightly more peaceful relationship and life.
