Mewgenics has problems. Big problems, and it is also something I cannot pry myself from. It is simulationusly the best and worst thing that has happened to me in 2026. It is the culmination of what makes an Edmund game an Edmund game.
It took me a while to comprehend why Isaac has so much longevity compared to other roguelites. But it eventually dawned on me what the secret sauce was, the thing that makes Isaac, and by extension Mewgenics… so enduring.
