Welcome to a ProFire Lesson from Pixel Film Studios.
ProFire comes with 25 ProRes fire composites and a Blending tool that will allow you to change the look of your fire. Simply drag and drop the fire composites over any of media you have and ProFire will do the rest.
TIMELINE
Let’s begin by selecting our media from the FCPX media library.
Then browse through the fire composite media.
Once you find a fire composite that works best for your project.
Select the fire composite and go to the inspector window.

Once in the inspector window, Go down to the Compositing section.
Start by choosing a blend mode that suites the style you are going for.
Then adjust the opacity slider according to how subtle or intense your want the fire composite to show up.

After adjusting the opacity slider go down to the effects library and locate ProFire.
ProFire comes with a blending tool that you can easily drag and drop on top of any fire composite.
Once you have applied the blending tool go to the inspector window.

EFFECT CONTROLS
Start by adjusting the Hue, Saturation, Light, Blur, Scale.
After making those adjustments you can choose to flip your composite vertical or horizontal.
Finally you can decide if you want to invert your fire composite.
