A Week in Taiwan Despite a Failed Attempt at a Huandao - 4K 環島
My dad came to visit me in Taiwan. After he got out of his quarantine hotel, he stayed with me for a couple days then we wanted to do a Huandao. 環島 This is essentially a trip around the island of Taiwan in as long or short a time as you want. Unfortunately, the weather didn't hold up too well so we ended up shortening the trip. We went up to the mountains in Fuxing and explored Lalashan and Yushan areas. We wanted to go down to Taroko Gorge but because of the weather and road closures, that wasn't possible. Instead, we did some stuff on the coast like the Yehliu Geopark, some lighthouses and geothermal vents, and even hot springs in the town of Jiaoxi. We also visited Taipei because seeing the view of the city from the top of Taipei 101 is a must for any tourist who has free time in Taiwan. We ate a lot of local Taiwanese food and sampled some indigenous food at a Hakka restaurant in Daxi.
