A pin is a hardware element on a window sash that rests against a special counter-piece on the frame, often called an eccentric, which is an alternative name. In plastic windows, the counter-piece is a special plate on the window frame. They are always located only on the end face of sashes. When the window handle is turned, the eccentric moves either up or down, engaging the counter-piece, pulling the sash toward the frame.
