Or: Inca Qamaña (also called "Descanso del Inca" or "Inca Resting Place") is an impressive structure carved directly into the rock of Cerro Khappia, featuring large steps, seats, niches, terraces, channels, and tables – every prominent feature perfectly oriented to the east. The enigmatic site lies on the Peruvian shore of Lake Titicaca near Yunguyo/Cuturapi in the Puno region, just before the Bolivian border, at an altitude of over 3,800 meters.
The site is a mystery—no one really knows much about it. Its construction is also very different from many other structures in Peru, especially this style of construction on this scale.
There are no deep prehistoric myths (e.g., from the Tiwanaku period) that specifically mention this place.
