James 1:17 ESV Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
There are many Bible verses about gifts, both natural and spiritual. When it comes to the latter, specifically the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Scripture is very clear. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, we read: "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, ...to another faith by the same Spirit,...to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,...to another working of miracles,...to another prophecy,...to another discerning of spirits,...to another different kinds of tongues,...to another interpretation of tongues." From this passage, we see that there are a wide variety of gifts that are imparted by God's Holy Spirit - and that these gifts are meant to be used for our benefit and for His glory.
