Windows 10 Share Folder - file sharing

PC-A: where is shared folder PC-B: Access shared folder
IP Address: 192.168.1.3 IP Address:192.168.1.29
Username: sduser1
Password: admin@123 [password must]
At PC-A:
Create a Folder, i put file in the folder
Sharing the folder
Right click on Folder - Properties
Select - Sharing Tab
Select - Advanced Sharing
Select - Share this folder
Select Permission - click everyone - select Full control
Apply Ok - Apply -Ok -

Folder is Shared – Access Folder from PC-B



At PC-B:
Ping to PC-A(ip:192.168.1.3)
C:\Users\User1)ping 192.168.1.3
Pinging 192.168.1.3 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.3: bytes=32 time=7ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.3: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.3: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.3: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=128

Access shared from PC-A
At PC-B:
Run \\PC-A’IP address
Run \\192.168.1.3


UserName: PC-A’s user sduser1
Password: admin@123



Added 2 files at PC-B

Check at PC-A in N22Data1 folder

At PC-B: access shared folders from PC-A


Sharing - Administrativ Sharing/ Hidden Sharing
We can access shared folder if we know shared folder name only
At PC-A: Change Share name if require, and Add $ at end of share name
Ex. Share Name: sharename$


Access Administrative/Hidden Shared folder from PC-A
At PC-B
Run \\PC-A’s IP Address\sharename$


We can’t see shared folder (N22share3$)

Open shared folder :


What are the shared folders in our System, their Share names and original folder name and Locations
At PC-A

Run/Search - compmgmt.msc

At PC-A is a central device, all require docs in Shared folder at pc-a only
User has to access the docs from the PC-A , regularly
Mount the shared folder to user’s PC as Network Drive
At PC-A check Shared folder - sharename - permissions


At PC-B
Open Sharing folder of PC-A
Right click on Share Name - Map Network Drive



Limit No of user access to the shared folder

Lusrmgr.msc - local users and group
-add users add groups
add users to a group
-reset user’s password
-delete users and groups
change user’s privileges by adding the user to a specific group
-Enable/Disable user
Reset user’s password - lusrmgr.msc - not works in Home Editions
