The Young Believers; Give Me The Strength
December 2012: A group of young men came to sing to us in the restaurant at Tanna Tree Top Lodge on our last night, led by Phillip on guitar. The generator goes off briefly after the start of the song, but it comes back on again so keep watching to hear some beautiful Lennon like harmonies and riffs. The guys are a Seventh Day Adventist group who write their own songs. They find work where they can and use the money to help people in their community that are worse off than them. When I looked at Philip telling me about this in his torn shirt and worn thongs, I was very moved. Phillip had been our guide over the previous few days, he was a lovely, well spoken and informative man.
