This set up allows you to play any game in the VR world.

The Capture Card I use https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3164054235...

Hardware
• Meta Quest 3 headset
• A dedicated Wi-Fi router or access point (connected via ethernet to your PC)
• A gaming PC capable of running Neverness to Everness
• Console players only: A capture card (e.g. Elgato HD60, AVerMedia) + HDMI cable
Software
• Virtual Desktop (purchased from the Meta Quest store — approx. $19.99)
• Virtual Desktop Streamer app installed on your PC (free, from vrdesktop.net)
• Neverness to Everness installed on PC via its official launcher
• Console players only: OBS Studio (free) , obsproject.com

Part 1: Setting Up Your Dedicated Wi-Fi
A dedicated Wi-Fi connection is key. You want your Quest 3 on its own network that is hardwired to your PC this eliminates interference and gives you low latency streaming.
• Connect a Wi-Fi router or access point to your PC via an ethernet cable
• Make sure the router is set to 5GHz or 6GHz Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6 preferred for best performance)
• On your Quest 3, go to Settings , Wi-Fi and connect to this dedicated network
• Keep your Quest 3 within reasonable range of the router , ideally the same room

TIP: Do not use your main home Wi-Fi for this. A shared network causes lag and stuttering in Virtual Desktop.

Part 2: Installing Virtual Desktop
On Your PC:
• Go to vrdesktop.net and download the Virtual Desktop Streamer
• Install and launch it, it will sit in your system tray
• Enter your Oculus/Meta username when prompted
On Your Quest 3:
• Open the Meta Quest Store
• Search for 'Virtual Desktop' and purchase it (approx. $19.99)
• Install and launch it on your headset
Connecting:
• Launch Virtual Desktop on your Quest 3
• Your PC should appear automatically, click on it to connect
• You are now in Virtual Desktop's home environment inside your headset

Part 3: Configuring Virtual Desktop for Immersion
Once connected, this is where the magic happens:
• In Virtual Desktop, go to Settings
• Under Environment, choose a home screen you love, a cinema, space station, forest, etc.
• Enable Curved Screen mode for a more immersive wraparound view
• Adjust the screen size and distance to your preference
• You can also enable Passthrough to see your real room around the virtual screen

TIP: The curved, customizable view is what makes the experience feel like VR. It wraps the game around your field of view just like a VR headset would.

Part 4A: PC Setup , Playing Neverness to Everness
• On your PC, launch Neverness to Everness through its official launcher
• Let the game load fully on your PC monitor
• In Virtual Desktop (inside your headset), click 'Games' or use the desktop view to see your PC screen
• The game will appear on your virtual screen inside the headset
• Resize the game window in Virtual Desktop , stretch it to fill your desired view
• Inside the game, switch to First Person Camera view
• Adjust the in-game camera settings for the widest, most immersive field of view possible
• Sit back and enjoy , you are now playing NTE in an immersive VR-style experience

PRO TIP: Use a controller or keyboard/mouse as normal , Virtual Desktop passes your inputs through seamlessly.

Part 4B: Console Setup , Using OBS + Capture Card
If you play Neverness to Everness on a console, you can still get this experience by streaming your console footage to your PC and then into Virtual Desktop.
Step 1: Connect Your Capture Card
• Connect your console's HDMI output to the input on your capture card
• Connect your capture card's USB to your PC
• Connect your TV/monitor to the capture card's HDMI output (passthrough) so you can still see the game normally
Step 2: Set Up OBS
• Download and install OBS Studio from obsproject.com
• Open OBS and click the '+' button under Sources
• Select 'Video Capture Device'
• In the dropdown, select your capture card
• Your console gameplay will now appear in OBS
• Click 'Start Virtual Camera' in OBS (bottom right panel)
Step 3: View in Virtual Desktop
• In Virtual Desktop on your Quest 3, open the desktop view
• Open any video player or browser on your PC and select the OBS Virtual Camera as the video source (or simply view the OBS window directly on your virtual desktop)
• Resize and position the view to fill your desired field of view
• Switch to First Person view on your console game
• You are now playing your console game in immersive VR-style view

This Works for Any Game!
This setup is not just for NTE. Any game with a first-person or adjustable camera can be played this way:
• Open world RPGs
• Horror games
• Adventure games
• Other gacha titles
• Simulation games (like The Sims 4, similar to VorpX setups)
