Black Tailed Prairie Dogs - Los Angeles Zoo
The cute animals are black-tailed prairie dogs (Cynomys ludovicianus).
A Prairie Dog is not a dog at all, but actually a rodent related to squirrels. They named Prairie "Dog" because of the barking noises they make when warning other of dangers.
Prairie Dogs feed on grasses, leaves, roots, and stems found on prairies.
The funny animals I filmed at Los Angeles Zoo in December 23 of 2013.
