The OpenVPN community has issued a critical security update — version 2.6.14 — to address a server-side vulnerability (CVE-2025-2704) that could be exploited to crash VPN servers using the --tls-crypt-v2 option. Although the flaw doesn’t expose encrypted data or allow code execution, it can still be leveraged to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) attack, potentially disrupting secure communications for users globally.
