Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems KRAS rolled out the 100th MRSAM Kit

100th MRSAM kit delivered
The way private players are picking up in the defence sector very soon, India will be hub of defence manufacturing. This capability will come handy in advent of prolonged war in order to maintain supply chain. The prominent private companies in missile and its component manufacturing is Solar Industries which develops various components for loitering munitions, Pinaka Rockets, Akash & BrahMos missile. Kalyani is also picking up in this sector. Its joint venture Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems Pvt Ltd or KRAS is producing the MRSAM Kit for Indian Armed forces. Rafael is Israel based firm which has excellent experience in developing state of art weapons such as David Sling, Iron Dome, Spyder, Spike Missile, Spike bombs etc.
In July 2019, the Indian Army and Air Force had awarded a $100 million contract to produce 1,000 MRSAM to Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems (KRAS). The missiles are manufactured at Kalyani Rafael’s plant in Hyderabad, Telangana, and then sent to Bharat Dynamics Limited for further integration. BDL has setup a new production facility in Hyderabad with an investment of $100m to manufacture both MRSAM and LRSAM missiles. The facility has the capacity to produce 100 missiles a year.
KRAS announced the delivery of the first batch of MRSAM on 16 March 2021 to the Indian Air Force. Today, the KRAS has rolled out the 100th MRSAM Kit for delivery to the Indian Armed Forces. Apart from the missile kits, KRAS will also support in Maintenance and Repair Operations of in-service Air Defence Missile Systems to the Armed Forces.
