"Leave it There!" Dr. J. D. Ellis, Mrs. Drewcilla Cooper lead Pentecostal Temple in the Hymn
Leading the morning hymn, the late Dr. Jessie Delano Ellis and the late Sister Drewcilla Cooper, who were indeed gifted, spirited and anointed singers, trailblazers in the famed Pentecostal Temple musical aggregation. This service was aired over WDIA AM 1070 in 1984 during Pentecostal Temple's long-running famed weekly broadcast ("the Pentecostal Hour") at 10 p. m. on Sunday nights. It emanated from "Studio H. O. L. Y." in Pentecostal Temple often dubbed on the broadcast by Bishop Patterson as either "The Home of the Saints" or "The Sanctuary of the Lord".
WDIA is credited for being the first to air predominately African American programming in America.
The leaders are backed up on this video by the congregation, the anointed Pentecostal Temple Sanctuary Choir under Minister of Music, Professor Henry Cage and Choir President the Mother Deborah Mason Patterson, Bishop Patterson's wife and daughter of Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, the organizer of COGIC. The Choir was directed by Sister Doris Walls. The skillful musicians were organist Professor Lonnie M. Haley at the console of the master Yamaha Organ, Henry Cage on the piano on the Yamaha Piano and percussionist Brother William D. F. Carter.
And, Brother Lonnie Haley is playing that organ something special! A cross between high church cathedral and spirited revivalistic pentecostal!
Pentecostal Temple is now pastored by the Bishop Charles Harrison Mason Patterson.
