In each of the hacked accounts, the attackers tweeted the following:
"All bitcoins sent to the address below will be sent back double! If you send $1,000, I'll return $2,000. Only within 30 minutes."
After the public learned of the Twitter hack, the company's shares plummeted in the after-hours trading session on the New York Stock Exchange.
