v7 Putty, ssh no key with password part 1 #4
Part one gets you used to putty ssh concepts without using encrypted key files. Part two will add encrypted key files.
Router switch reset: to factory default configuration:
1. remove gateway (bottom) cable from eth1 (jack nearest to power connector)
2. hold reset switch and plug router power back in, hold until bottom LED starts to flash
3. Log in and say OK to the factory default configuration
4. make sure the firewall is present.
Activate Winbox using putty: (YouTube wont permit angled brackets here so I use /)
1. username@[Routername] / "ip" without the quotes
2. username@[Routername] ip / "service" without the quotes
3. username@[Routername] ip service / "set winbox disabled=no" without the quotes
