In the 3 previous videos we saw several ways to use Kramer Tape in the master channel, now it's time for the the multitrack, that means, separate tracks.
In the Kick we used only the circuit saturation (Monitor set to Input) and adjusted the needles until the signal just exceeded 0dB. This increases the detail of the skin and creates a more round bottom end.
We wanted to fatten up the Snare but keeping the punch so we slowed down the tape to 7.5ips with little circuit and tape saturation (see FLUX and VU). This also increases the detail and ambience.
In the acoustic guitar we used a lot of both types of saturation (see link above for details) but we also used it to add delay.
In the electric #guitars we did the same as with the snare, we used 7.5ips to fatten up the sound but without adding much circuit distortion (REC LVL)... Instead, we added a bit more #tape #saturation (FLUX) to cohesion the sound and make it more present.
