A wish represented in a song
It was a unanimous wish of all the Korean people to meet the great leader Kim Jong Il. When they met him, they wanted to meet him again and when he left after calling on them, they could not fall asleep with more ardent yearning for him. All of them thought he would come where they work and where they live.
With the ardent wish Ryu Myong Ho, a Section Chief of the Literature College of Kim Il Sung University, and Kim Sun Hwa, a Teacher of the Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, wrote the song "He will surely come".
Thinking he would come to us today, too,
We go to school before others at sunrise
To realize the wish kept in our hearts
The General will surely come to see us.
With great delight, he looked round the new E-Library and Swimming Gymnasium of Kim Il Sung University. When he was told about the construction of the new conservatory, he called at it before others. He saw the swimming and art performance of students, considering their small success to be great. It was teachers and students who waited for him on their way to universities every morning, thinking he would surely come.
Kim Sun Hwa has this to say:
"The unanimous desire of the teachers and students to meet the fatherly Kim Jong Il at our conservatory has been put to music. It was we that had prepared a performance, thinking we would meet him again. We believed he would surely come."
If he comes, he, enjoying our songs, will smile
Saying he´s relieved of fatigue from the front.
To see us, his children grown under his care,
The General will surely come to see us.
Students thought only of
Kim Jong Il, studying at the e-library equipped with latest IT equipment, swimming at the swimming pool filled with clear water or singing on the splendid stage.
It is our wish to see him often
It is our wish to be in his bosom more often
As our wish is infinite like time
So our longing for him will be everlasting
None of them imagined they could not meet great Kim Jong Il at the universities again. In December last year the students writhed in agony wailing as they could not realize the ardent wish to meet him again. The fatherly Kim Jong Il is gone, leaving behind the students he valued and loved so much.
Kim Sun Hwa went on:
"Kim Jong Il is not gone. His footprints are found at the conservatory compound and bright classrooms, as if convincing us he would come just now. We still sing the song ´He will surely come´, vividly remembering the day he visited our conservatory. He will always be with us."
