Raheem Sterling hat-trick helps Man City destroy Atalanta 5-1 as Phil Foden sees red
Manchester City recovered from a goal down to thrash Atalanta 5-1 thanks to a Raheem Sterling hat-trick at the Etihad on Tuesday night. City maintained their place at the top of Champions League Group C thanks to the resounding victory which also saw Sergio Aguero score twice. The night was marginally soured by a late red card for 19-year-old midfielder Phil Foden after he picked up two silly yellow cards after the game was already won. There was also something of a concern for Man City boss Pep Guardiola as Rodri, playing at centre-back, limped off the pitch in the first half with a hamstring injury, being replaced by John Stones. In general, it was another positive night for Pep, though, as his side continually ripped through the Italians at pace, and Sterling again proved himself to be one of the most threatening forwards in world football.
