The great tenor Franco Corelli, a great artist with a magnificent voice, deeply devoted to his profession, had an episode in which his control wavered dramatically. It all happened during a performance of Il Trovatore at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, where an unfortunate singing student, Improta, had a truly terrible idea that infuriated the magnificent Corelli, to say the least.
