Steam Whistle electronics project for kids to build

[Issue 45] For this month's kids basics project, we make a fun steam whistle that can liven up kids' games or playtime. ⁠

To make our frequencies, we use five of the six units in a 40106 Hex Schmitt Trigger IC. A Schmitt Trigger is a special arrangement of comparator, with a bunch of the components we need already integrated into it, helping keep our part count down and board layout neat. ⁠

We’ll use the LM386 amplifier for sound output. ⁠

All of it is powered by a 9V battery and fits in a standard breadboard.⁠
