The legendary writer Charles Dickens said, in one of the most famous lines from the Bible, that "The New Testament is the greatest book the world has ever known or ever will know." Indeed, the Holy Scriptures have shaped a fundamental part of human history. Their concepts of the creation of man, of Adam and Eve, and of the arrival of Jesus Christ on Earth have always been based on the existence of good and its counterpart, evil. And it is precisely Lucifer, the fallen angel, who represents the pinnacle of evil in the world and in the hearts of men. Although he is a popular figure in religion, little has been said about who Lucifer's mother is in the Bible.
Christian tradition is quite clear in speaking of Lucifer as the fallen angel. As a precious creature, of outstanding intelligence and perfect beauty, he represented God's most exquisite creation. Knowing he possessed extraordinary qualities and consumed by pride, this favorite angel decided to defy God, wanting to take his place on the throne. It was for this reason that he was expelled from Heaven and condemned to live in the deepest Hell, where he would transform into Satan, the supreme being of evil. But the story of who Lucifer's mother was has remained a mystery for centuries. Today at Supercurioso, we venture to delve deeper into the most popular legends about this enigmatic figure.
