Dino Zoff
Dino Zoff (Mariano del Friuli, February 28, 1942) was a former Italian football coach and player, and a goalkeeper. He was a European Champion in 1968, a World Champion in 1982, and a runner-up in 1970 with the Italian national team, which he also coached from 1998 to 2000.
Considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, his career was primarily tied to Juventus, where he played for eleven years spanning the 1970s and 1980s, never missing a league match. He made 479 appearances for the Bianconeri (330 in Serie A), winning six Italian championships, two Italian Cups, and a UEFA Cup, and appeared in two European Cup finals and one Intercontinental Cup final. Zoff formed – together with libero Gaetano Scirea and full-backs Claudio Gentile and Antonio Cabrini, all three teammates and members of the national team – one of the best defensive lines in the history of the sport.
