Creating Agile Boards in JIRA
Create an Agile board to keep your team on the same page
We set out on this Agile journey to get every member of the team on the same page. Now it’s time to... literally… create that page. The board in Agile methodologies is the main shared dashboard for a team’s work. As you might expect, you can get to your team’s boards in JIRA from the main menu at the top of your screen. For real-time, unfettered visibility to exactly what’s happening and when, your team’s Agile board (or boards) can be displayed on a TV at the side of the team’s work area. If you’ve created your first project in JIRA, then you’ll find that you already have a board for visualizing your team’s work. If you’re anxious to slice and dice your project with a few more boards, just click: Boards,... View All Boards,... then the Create Board button at the top right. A good place to start is with three columns on your board: To Do, In Progress, & Done. This is the Default Simplified Workflow and it’s a great starting place for most teams. If your team manages work with a few more steps in the process, you can add and customize the columns here to precisely match your team’s process for getting things done! When you start creating additional columns, make sure all of the stages of your work fit comfortably on a single browser window from left to right. Now that you have a board for managing the work, it’s easy for your team to grab cards and drag them from left to right as they start getting things to Done right before everyone’s very eyes!!
