The Aroon indicator seeks to identify the strength of trend, both up and down, by the ratio of distance from the current candle to the most recent highest high or lowest low within a defined range of number of candles.
For example, using the default period setting of 25 if the highest high for the most recent 25 candles is at candle 1 then that is seen as a strong upward trend. if the lowest low in the same period is at candle 25 then that is a weak downward trend.
Both trends are plotted at the same time to allow for comparison.
