SEALs.
The United States Navy SEALs (SEALs) are the primary tactical unit of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the United States Navy, operationally subordinate to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). They are designed to conduct reconnaissance, special operations and sabotage operations, search and rescue operations, and other SOF missions.
The SEALs (with the exception of the NSWDG) conduct reconnaissance, sabotage operations, and hostage rescue, while the NSWDG and its Army counterpart, Delta Force, primarily focus on counterterrorism. In addition to reconnaissance, sabotage, and assault operations, the SEALs are also called upon to perform a number of other specific tasks: providing cover for the main forces, directing artillery fire, clearing and laying mines, maintaining communications in combat zones, and combating maritime terrorism and the illegal crossing of the country's maritime borders.
All "seals" without exception are members of the U.S. Navy or Coast Guard.[3][4] In Russian translations, the English word "Navy SEALs" is often translated as "navy seals" (e.g., the film "Navy Seals," etc.).
