A pochi chilometri da Piacenza immerso nelle campagne e nel verde circostante, sorge il borgo medioevale di Grazzano Visconti. Si tratta di un borgo interamente ricostruito e ad oggi abitato, che da il suo meglio durante le rievocazioni storiche e le feste. L’aspetto medioevale mescolato agli addobbi, rende il borgo un vero gioiellino.
Agli inizi del ‘900 il Duca Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone, nobile milanese, decise di realizzare vicino a Piacenza un borgo dall’aspetto medioevale, Grazzano Visconti per l’appunto. I lavori cominciarono nel 1905 e terminarono nel 1915. In questi anni Guseppe Visconti fu parte attiva nella realizzazione del borgo, dove prese parte alle attività come direttore dei lavori, pittore e affrescatore. In piazza si trova anche un albergo, l’Albergo Biscione, datato 1906. Nonostante il borgo sia completamente ricostruito, la forma e le strutture che incontrerete durante la visita, sono le stesse dal 1915.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Duke Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone, a Milanese nobleman, decided to build a medieval-looking village near Piacenza, precisely Grazzano Visconti. The works began in 1905 and ended in 1915. In these years Guseppe Visconti took an active part in the construction of the village, where he took part in the activities as construction manager, painter and fresco artist. In the square there is also a hotel, the Albergo Biscione, dated 1906. Although the village has been completely rebuilt, the shape and structures that you will encounter during the visit have been the same since 1915.
